How we research prices
Hourly rate bands are compiled from four kinds of source, in this order of weight:
- Quotes we have collected for specific routes and dates. The most reliable input and the hardest to gather at scale.
- Published operator and broker rate cards — the hourly figures charter companies put on their own public pages.
- Manufacturer performance data for cruise speed, range and cabin capacity. Range figures are published maxima, which we discount before planning a leg — see the methodology.
- Airport, FBO and authority documentation for anything about runways, wingspan limits, customs procedure and terminal facilities.
Where a claim has a specific number attached — a discount, a fleet size, a record — we either attribute it to whoever is making the claim or we do not print it. Our partner's "10,000+ aircraft" is a good example: that is Villiers Jets's statement about its own network, presented as such, not a figure we have audited.
How often things are updated
- Rate bands: reviewed quarterly. Last reviewed ; next review . The review date is printed in the site footer and on the methodology page.
- Route and destination guides: reviewed when the rate bands change, and whenever airport, FBO or customs information becomes stale. Every guide carries a visible published and updated date.
- Prices inside guides: never stored. Every figure on a route page is generated from the pricing engine at build time, so a rate change propagates to every page in a single deploy. There is no such thing as a stale price on one page and a fresh one on another.
Who writes and who reviews
Content is written and maintained by the CharterJetCalc Editorial Team. Every editorial page carries a visible byline and dates.
We do not currently have a named aviation professional reviewing content, and we do not claim one. That is a genuine limitation, and printing a badge instead of a name would be a worse answer than admitting it. The byline architecture on every page already supports a named reviewer with credentials; the field is empty because the person does not yet exist, not because we forgot.
Our policy on AI
AI tools are used in producing this site — for drafting, editing, and writing the code behind the calculator. They are not used to invent facts. Specifically:
- No price, rate, distance or performance figure is generated by a language model. Every number on the site comes from the pricing engine or from a source in the list above.
- No testimonial, review, credential or named expert on this site is synthetic. There are none, which is why there are none to fabricate.
- Any published claim carrying a specific statistic is attributed to its source or removed.
- A human reviews every page before publication and is accountable for it.
Corrections
If something here is wrong, tell us and we will fix it. Material corrections to a price, a method or a factual claim are made in the page itself and noted in the page's updated date. We do not silently rewrite a figure that was materially wrong — the change and the date it happened stay visible.
The single most useful thing you can send us is a real quote that fell outside our published range, with the route, the date and the aircraft category. That is the input the rate bands are built from.

Editorial independence from our affiliate income
CharterJetCalc earns a referral fee when a reader books through Villiers Jets. That creates an obvious incentive, so here is what it is and is not allowed to touch:
- It does not touch the estimates. Estimates are computed from a static data file, in your browser, before any partner is contacted. Our partner has no input into the rate bands, the recommendation rule or the route guides.
- It does not buy coverage. No route, destination or aircraft page exists because a partner asked for it.
- It is always labelled. Partner links are marked as sponsored, partner panels are labelled as partner panels, and the relationship is disclosed in the footer of every page and in full on how we make money.
If we ever accept a second partner, or a paid placement of any kind, it will be disclosed here first.
